It's that special neither-July-nor-September month again, so San Leandro's 21st Amendment Brewery is hosting its third annual AugustFest from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 26.

For the first time ever, this year the party will take place in the brewery's front yard, and will feature live music by The Stone Foxes -- headlining at 4 p.m. -- plus food and drinks from 4505 Burgers & BBQ, The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, the La Poblana taco truck, Wheelys Cafe San Leandro, and Three Twins Ice Cream.

The fest will feature four beer stations along with a rare-beer station dispensing hourly beer releases. Other activities include live art, a kid-zone featurign two bouncy houses, an adults-only cigar lounge, and more.

The brewery was founded in 2000 after -- in a brewing-science class at UC Davis -- actor and home-brewer Nico Freccia met Shaun O'Sullivan, an ex-paralegal who became assistant brewer at Berkeley's Tripe Rock Brewery. The classmates became friends, and now 21st Amendment makes a variety of IPAs, ales, stouts, and other suds.

Admission to the fest is free; beer tickets are $5 each. Four tickets plus a 21st Amendment mug are $21. Free parking will be available in the brewery's lot, and free shuttles will run between the brewery and San Leandro BART station all day.
