The international fast-food group Burgerim has just announced its plans to launch a new outlet in El Cerrito Plaza.

The Israel-based brand's signature item is a 2.8-ounce slider comprising the customer's choice of meat (turkey, lamb, dry aged beef, spicy beef, Spanish beef, chicken, or salmon), bun, sauce, and toppings (mixed greens, fried eggs, avocado, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, and a variety of cheeses).

Non-meat options include vegetarian and felafel patties.

Over 160 Burgerim restaurants span the US as well as England, Spain, Russia, Romania, and beyond, as reported at Patch.

On-duty police officers, firefighters, and EMT workers receive "thank-you discounts" at Burgerim restaurants, according to the company's website.

The El Cerrito restaurant, whose opening date has not yet been announced, joins other East Bay Burgerims in Fremont, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Antioch, and San Ramon.
