The afterparty for this year's California Rum Fest is happening in Alameda.
Now in its third year and set for Sept. 8 and 9 at San Francisco's SOMArts Cultural Center, the Rum Fest will spotlight dozens of rums from around the world. Day 1 will include an industry session and consumer grand tasting. The second day's five-hour "Rum Bazaar" will include sample-able tropical rum cocktails created by some of the Bay Area's most popular mixologists, as well as arts and crafts and live retro-surf music.
Rum brands taking part in this year's Rum Fest include Montanya, Denizen, Cihaután, Ron Jaguar, Mount Gay, Mezan, Plantation, Parce, Pusser's, Kirk & Sweeney, Clément, Damoiseau, Flor de Caña, The Real McCoy, Foursquare, Diplomático, Tanduay, Don Q, Caliche, and many more.
Following all of this rummy festivity, the afterparty will be held at Alameda's Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge. Forbidden Island's co-owner Michael Thanos will be attending the fest and hosting the afterparty.
