Celebrity chef and burger-meister Chris Kronner, founder of Oakland's Kronnerburger restaurant, has departed his gig at Henry's in Berkeley.

As reported at MSN.com, Kronner took over the kitchen at Henry's — formerly the Hotel Durant and the Graduate Hotel, a block south of the UC campus — in 2018. Kronnerburger closed that same year, following a February fire.

World-renowned for his dry-aged burgers, whose crispy-edged thick patties were a crowd favorite at last year's Outside Lands, the chef has not announced his future plans — although he travels frequently while hosting Kronnerburger pop-ups such as recent ones in Paris and Los Angeles.

Kronner told Eater: "it was just time to say goodbye to Berkeley."

Chef Daniel Westfall has been hired to replace him at Henry's.
