Cool Margarita Recipes from Doña Tomás

Temescal's ever-popular Doña Tomás has big plans for Cinco de Mayo -- and, surprisingly enough, those plans include margaritas. Dios mío, yo sé! 

 

The folks at DT have shared with Feast Bay some of their favorite margarita recipes. Let's get la fiesta started muy temprano!

 

Margarita Especial (Doña Tomás’ most popular margarita)

1.5 ounces Cimarrón Blanco tequila

.5 ounce Citronge

.5 ounce simple syrup

1 ounce fresh lime juice

 

Shake with ice and pour into salt-rimmed glass.

 

Carter Beats the Devil (named after the debut novel of former East Bay Express writer Glen David Gold) 

 

1.5 ounce El Tesoro Reposado tequila

.5 ounce Del Maguey Vida mezcal 

.5 ounce agave syrup

.75 fresh lime juice

 

Shake with ice, double strain into up glass, garnish with lime twist.

 

Margarita de la Reyna

1.5 ounces Pura Sangre blanco tequila

.5 ounce Cointreau

.5 ounce simple syrup

1 ounce fresh lime juice

 

Shake with ice and pour into salt-rimmed glass.

 

Mezcal Margarita 

1.5 ounce Don Amado mezcal

.5 ounce Cointreau

.5 ounce simple syrup

1 ounce fresh lime juice

 

Shake with ice and pour into salt-rimmed glass.
