East Bay Chocolatiers to Shine at SF Choco Salon

Erstwhile East Bay chocolatiers -- such as the San Leandro-based TeaRoom Chocolate Company and Oakland-based flying noir -- will be sharing their wares at the San Francisco Chocolate Salon, set for March 15.

A project of TasteTV, the salon will feature -- for the second time running -- a Chocolate Design Gallery, featuring chocolate-themed artworks such as chocolate high-heeled shoes, a chocolate skull, the "chocolate diamond collection" (not sure whether these are edible chocolate diamonds or diamonds cut to resemble chocolates) and more.

Another interesting tidbit is that the always-beautiful works of one Chocolate Salon exhibitor, Florida-based William Dean Chocolates, appeared in both of the Hunger Games films. To honor WDC, the salon will feature a chocolate-themed Hunger Games display.

The March 15 Chocolate Salon marks the culmination of SF Chocolate Week, with an array of tours, demonstrations and other events starting on March 6.
