Gott's Roadside, popular purveyor of classic American roadside cuisine, is opening a new location in downtown Walnut Creek on Thursday, Dec. 7.

Founded in St. Helena in 1999 by brothers Joel and Duncan Gott, the restaurant group has locations in St. Helena, Napa, Palo Alto, San Francisco’s Ferry Building, and San Francisco International Airport.

The Walnut Creek location will be its first East Bay venture.

Gott's Walnut Creek will serve California-centric fare — cheeseburgers, ahi poke crispy tacos, the Citrus Avocado Chop Salad, the new Impossible Burger, and more — as well as local wines and beers at a newly designed bar and lounge area which no other Gott's location features.

To augment the regular menu, culinary director Jennifer Rebman has also created new limited-time-only  specials.

“Residents of Walnut Creek have been asking us to open a restaurant in their neighborhood for years, and we’re excited to finally be doing so,” says Gott’s president Clay Walker.

“We chose Walnut Creek for our next Gott’s because it’s the center of the East Bay, conveniently located between our Napa Valley locations and our SF Ferry Building one, and because it’s a fantastic, family-oriented area.”

The new restaurant boasts industrial and refined contemporary touches such as the signature “EAT” sign by Oakland-based Neon Works. Other features include roll-up garage doors, metalwork by Petaluma-based Eclipse Design Group and hand-painted signs by San Francisco-based New Bohemia Signs.

“Hospitality is our core value at Gott’s," Walker added.

"Our food is a cut above and our menu is broader than most in our segment, but our culture – and how we treat everybody in our ecosystem – is what sets us apart from our competition.

"Our primary focus is on our employees. We recruit, hire, and train the best people we can find. We instill teamwork and respect from the start, and empower everyone to do their jobs. We compensate our people well, and provide opportunities for development and promotion from within. We have found that happy and productive employees deliver a welcoming experience, and the best and most consistent customer service, keeping our guests coming back for more.

"In other words, we accomplish our goal of superior guest service by taking great care of our people who make it happen every day.”
