Hawker Fare's James Syhabout Creates Extra-Special Burger for Eat Drink SF

One of the East Bay's favorite chef-restaurateurs, James Syhabout -- owner of Commis and Hawker Fare -- will create a unique hamburger for his stint next Wednesday as guest-chef-for-a-day during a five-day charity event at Super Duper Burgers' 346 Kearny St. location in San Francisco. 

Every day, from August 17 through August 21, a different specialty burger created by a different (and celebrated) local chef will be offered all day at the restaurant, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting that chef's charity of choice. From 2 to 3 pm each day, that day's featured chef will stop by Super Duper burger to talk with fans.

Monday's guest chef is Thomas McNaughton of the Ne Timeas Restaurant Group. Tuesday's guest chef is David Bazirgan of Dirty Habit. Wednesday's guest chef is Syhabout. Thursday's is Brandon Jew of the forthcoming Mister Jiu’s, and Friday's is Michael Mina of the Michael Mina Restaurant Group.

During the chefs' visits, 100 percent of sales will go toward the designated charities.

This event is part of Eat Drink SF. Formerly known as SF Chefs, this huge annual festival was founded in 2009 by the Golden Gate Restaurant Association to celebrate the Bay Area's culinary community. This year as every year, more than 200 restaurants will participate in Eat Drink SF activities, including pre-events such as this burger bonanza. Eat Drink SF's main events will take place August 20-23 at Fort Mason Center.
