Hopsy Expands Beer-Delivery Service to San Francisco

Albany-based online beer-delivery service Hopsy has just launched service in San Francisco, where users can now have fresh growlers of local craft beer brought directly to their doors.

“We initially launched our service in the East Bay, delivering to mostly Oakland and Berkeley in order to create density and reduce our delivery costs," said Hopsy co-founder and CEO Sebastien Tron.

"After two months of operations and more than 1,500 customers served, we are ready to expand our delivery area and serve San Francisco."

Hopsy currently offers over twenty different beers from eleven Bay Area breweries, with plans to access more beers and breweries soon. Hopsy's core mission is to give users online access to local breweries whose products are hard or impossible to find in traditional retail spaces.

“There are more than 150 breweries in the Bay Area, and only a fraction of them are distributed in retail, where shelf space is dominated by the big brands. The result is that most of us don’t know about the amazing beers produced by our very own local breweries. And it is very challenging for those local breweries to compete and grow. That’s why we created Hopsy,” Tron said.
