It’s the height of summer, and how better to enjoy the longer days and brighter skies than by experiencing the Downtown Alameda Art & Wine Faire?

Stroll downtown to peruse over 300 booths selling local arts and crafts, including ceramics, paintings, photography, wood crafts, toys, clothing, jewelry, and more. Food trucks will also be on site with fare for even the most finicky of appetites, and adults craving adult beverages can enjoy craft beers by Alameda Island Brewing Company plus regional wines and mimosas.

The young and young at heart can opt for carnival rides on Park Street or head to the kids’ area for crafts projects and bounce house fun. Or make a splash with Waterballerz — those giant plastic balls you can climb inside and jump around in the water without getting wet. Music ranging from jazz to hip-hop to bluegrass will be performed all weekend long on two stages.

Sat., July 28–Sun., July 29, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., free, Park Street between Encinal and Buena Vista avenues, Alameda, DowntownAlameda.com.
