MIXT Opens in Oakland This Week

Grand-opening day features free prizes.

The fast-casual restaurant group MIXT, which spotlights farm-fresh meal-sized salads, grain bowls, and plates, is opening two East Bay locations this month.

Launched in San Francisco by Leslie and David Silverglide thirteen years ago, then becoming a highly sustainable Certified B Corporation last year, MIXT is launching an Oakland location at 2299 Broadway next Saturday, April 6.

On grand-opening day in Oakland, the first 250 guests will receive complimentary totes packed with merchandise from other Oakland business such as Numi Organic Tea, Drake's Brewing Co., and more. Humphry Slocombe and Firebrand Artisan Breads will also offer tastes — and balloons for kids. To honor the Oakland shop's status as MIXT's twelfth restaurant, 12 percent of all proceeds from the grand-opening weekend will benefit local nonprofit partner City Slicker Farms. 

MIXT's San Ramon location will open on April 27. There, too, the first 250 guests will receive complimentary totes — in this case filled with items from the restaurants City Center Bishop Ranch neighbors such as Athleta, Equinox, Boba Guys, and more. One dollar for every salad sold during grand-opening weekend will benefit local nonprofit partner The Urban Farmers. 

Created in hopes of providing healthy, tasty, high-quality food for busy hungry folks, MIXT uses a chef-driven menu tailored toward the seasonal and local. A new MIXT kids' menu is designed to offer balanced and beautiful meals to notoriously picky young ones.
