Market Hall Foods Offers High Holy Days Fare

The Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur menus include salads, entrees, and desserts.

Market Hall Foods and Market Hall Bakery in Oakland and Berkeley are currently offering a wide array of house-made, freshly prepared fare specially designed for the Jewish High Holy days, which began last weekend and will last into next week.

The Rosh Hashanah menu is available now through tomorrow, September 11, and includes salmon skewers with za'atar yogurt sauce; chicory salad with apples and blue cheese; and Eastern Mediterranean chicken 

The Yom Kippur menu is available next Monday, September 17 through next Wednesday, September 19, and includes chicken Marbella; grilled salmon with sauce vert; and chicory salad with goat cheese and golden beets. 

Other High Holy Days dishes include couscous with crispy shallots and herbs; broccolini sauté; cheese blintzes; tzimmes; savory vegetable kugel; smoked trout spread, baba ganoush; and more.

Holiday desserts include honey-apple bundt cake; honey-spice cookies; rugelach; brown-butter almond torte; chocolate-mousse cake; lemon cheesecake; Pavlova; almond cookies, and more.
