Family-run, Oakland-based roaster Mr. Espresso -- founded in 1978 -- has crafted a new summer beverage which is now being served at all Coffee Bar locations.

Cold Brew Shakerato is composed of Mr. Espresso's Dark Guatemala CODECH 24-Hour Cold Brew, shaken and served neat with sweet cream and mint.

The Shakerato draws its inspiration from the Mr. Espresso partners and brothers, John and Luigi Di Ruocco. Taking pride in their strong Italian roots, they wanted to share with Bay Area coffee lovers a classic hot-weather treat they had sampled extensively in Italy -- where traditionally it comprises a shot of espresso agitated into frothiness with ice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker, then served in a martini glass.

Coffee Bar sources all its beans from Mr. Espresso.
