Oakland's Mr. Espresso and Concord's Tsar Nicoulai Caviar are two East Bay outfits participating in San Francisco's Taste of the Nation event, set for tonight — March 28 — in the city's Regency Ballroom.
Featuring twenty-plus Bay Area chefs sharing their award-winning wares, the annual event is a benefit for the national No Kid Hungry campaign, to which all proceeds will be donated.
Special events this year include games, live music from DJ Big Russ and the Frosted Tips, and Food La La's custom-built DIY macaron-decorating booth, among others.
Interactive raffle experiences will give participants the chance to win such luxe prizes as a wine collection worth over $3,000.
Participating restaurants include Waterbar, the Slanted Door, the Commissary, Spruce, Tank 18, Souvla, Bacchus, One Market, Roka Akor, Salt & Straw, Pabu Izakaya, School Night, Sorrel, Michael Mina, La Mar Cebichería, Farm at Carneros, Horsefeather, Perbacco, Frances, E&O Kitchen and Bar, Ayala, MKT, Epic Steak, and many more.
Also represented at the gala is Dosa, whose Oakland location opened in 2017.
Tickets range from general admission to Grand VIP.
