If you’re a fan of Moroccan and Mediterranean dishes, this is the place for you, and thanks to reader Karen Allen for tipping us off in an e-mail. Go on a Thursday for a real taste of Morocco, when the daily special might be honeyed chicken, caramelized plums, almonds, soup and rice; or chicken with preserved lemon, olives and couscous. The spacious but rather nondescript restaurant is named for the young daughter of Jonathan and Fatima Belkhalfia, Casablanca transplants; he runs the restaurant, and she cooks, and they are friendly, gracious and eager to please. It’s a deli, too, so sandwiches, salads and soups are available, but eggplant, kefta and interesting spices make their way into and onto those offerings, so it’s not typical deli fare. For breakfast, try a treat made sweet with almond paste or rosewater. Sounds like they have big plans: dinner, belly dancing, alcohol. Nice place for a stroll before or after lunch, as it’s right on Ballena Bay. Open for lunch Tue.–Sun.
