Essential Information

2017 Central Ave
Alameda, CA

510-522-5822

At this reborn fav, one of Alameda’s most popular chefs, Saboor Zafari, teams up with the Island’s most renowned vintner, Kent Rosenblum, with a plum location near the Alameda Theatre Complex. Thanks to solid, reliable Cal-Med cooking, market-fresh ingredients and gracious service, the eatery’s popularity may expand off Island. Many old favorites—duck strudel with mushrooms, French onion soup, Asian pear salad, risotto, shrimp linguine, lobster ravioli, Dijon chicken breast and grilled lamb salad—made the crosstown leap to the spacious, new (and very loud) digs. An expanded main course section offers gradually revolving pasta, seafood and meat dishes at mostly moderate prices. Some sure bets: grilled day boat scallops, grilled salmon with artichoke-lobster cream sauce, roasted rack of lamb, grilled prime rib steak and 24-hour braised short ribs. Skip dessert in favor of the starter bread and cilantro dip. Serves lunch and dinner daily.
