The days of this quaint Solano Avenue Indian restaurant being a secret hideaway are long gone, and there is almost always a wait to get in. The friendly staff will take your name and offer you some crispy papadam as you wait, but the real treat starts once you are seated. Outstanding appetizers are spiced beef samosas and naan with cheese, but the real stars are the great entrees which include tandoori grills and rich vegetarian and meat curries. The lamb vinaloo is a real scorcher—when paired with perfectly prepared naan and medium-plus spicing, it will bring small tears to even the most experienced Indian diners’ eyes. Lunch Mon.-Sat.
