This restaurant offers great-tasting barbecue and soul food from one of the nicest restaurant owners you will ever meet, chef Earl Edwards. Go late and get a chance to meet the chef, who will remember your name when you leave, and enjoy the attractive digs (across the street from the original location, where it was displaced by the Uptown construction). All the usual suspects are here, including great pork ribs and links drenched in Edwards’ slightly sweet, spicy sauce. Don’t let the house-special pork-roast sandwich, the Piggly Wiggly, wiggle away; it is a must-try. Add some of Edwards’ delicious sides, such as succotash, greens, candied yams, black-eyed peas and hot water cornbread, for a complete—and tremendously filling—experience.
