This funked-up waffle house with late-night hours (to midnight Sun.–Thu. and to 4 a.m. Fri.-Sat.) and piped-in soul music has got you covered for breakfast, lunch or dinner with the odd pairing of savory fried chicken and sweet, sticky waffles. Angie’s Delight plates up buttery grits with waffles and a fried chicken breast. You’ll need a nap and a moist towelette after inhaling this spread. Plenty of down-home items (like mac ’n’ cheese, greens, chicken livers) dot the menu, as well as sandwiches and plenty of side action. Desserts called Karmel Cake, Sock It to Me Cake and so on tempt from towering covered cake plates fronting bright, eye-popping depictions of the folks whose names grace the menu items. The décor—Sputnik chandeliers, chrome chairs with blue-sparkled vinyl seats, purplish carpet and yellow walls with red accents—can cheer up any sad sport. Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
