Garibaldi’s reincarnates itself as Hudson, a rechristening with a makeover of the physical space, the Italian-influenced contemporary American menu and the dining vibe, and this iteration seems destined for a satisfying run. Gone is the Garibaldi’–Marzano combo with a reimagined “New-American brasserie” echoing Wood Tavern up the street. Hearty fare (a 24-ounce rib eye steak and a stuffed grilled pork chop, for example) makes its way onto the menu of this stylish but informal neighborhood hotspot where custom cocktails play out with surprising finesse. Salads, starters, pasta dishes and pizzas are also on offer as well as the likes of duck confit, P.E.I mussels, manila clams plus an intriguing wine selection, proving false F. Scott Fitzgerald’s assertion there are no second acts in American lives. Or in this case, would that be third acts? Serves dinner daily.
