If there’s a better handmade corn tortilla in Oakland, we haven’t found it. Neither have the loyal customers who’ve continued to patronize this East Oakland institution since its transition from the original family ownership. While the beans and rice and red sauce are all deliciously standard, the chorizo and mole stand out. So do the chips and just about any enchilada, but of course that has something to do with the tortillas. Did we mention how great they are slathered in butter, and how you’d be wise to take home a dozen? Lunch and dinner Wed.–Sun.
