On the weekends, there’s always a long line of hungry folks waiting to get into this go-to breakfast spot. Rather than join the weekend brunch masses, drop in on a weekday morning for instant, no-wait seating. Mint-green walls, red-and-black vinyl tile flooring and upright pews at red Formica tabletops create a funky vibe that fits well with the vast amounts of heuvos rancheros, eggs Benedict, corned beef hash, tofu scrambles and pancakes that come out of the kitchen, which also plates up tons of Hobbs apple-cured ham, Le Pique-Nique chicken apple sausage and Spam. Mama’s does big lunch business, too, offering a gaggle of meaty sandwiches, burgers and salads. Word to the wise: No matter when you go, don’t be in a hurry; impatience won’t get your order to you any faster. Breakfast and lunch daily. (Reservations for 6 or more.)
