Say hello to the Dimond’s best (and likely only) sushi restaurant. The upscale, sleek décor sets the bar high, and Nama delivers flavorful enough sushi. The rolls, rather than nigiri, seem to be the stars, and our spider roll went super fast, thanks to the perfectly crunchy soft-shell crab. Fans of spicy dishes, we could have stood a little more fire in our spicy poki salad and the chef’s special spicy roll. But the spicy tuna, unagi and tobitama were first-rate, as was the Kurosawa sake recommend by our waiter. There’s a pleasant patio for outdoor dining, so stop by on some sunny day. Don’t be surprised to find the main dining room populated with families and kids, many from the neighborhood. That’s what makes Nama memorable — its connection to the nabe.
