Duck into this relative newcomer, a second Greek-Mediterranean outlet in the lively theater district, to fill up on feta, olives, hummus, souvlaki, moussaka, kapama and more. Troy is earning a reputation for affordable and tasty Greek specialties, plating them up swiftly in the tiny peach-hued setting adorned with framed Mediterranean photographs. The gyros is genuine enough, a meaty lamb-beef combo with zippy tzatziki sauce, and the Greek platter—spanakopita, pita squares, dolmas and a horiatiki salad—satisfied a hankering for Mediterranean delights, as did the cinnamon-laden baklava. During the school year, Alameda High School students swarm Troy, encouraged by the offer of a 7-inch sandwich, fries and soda for $5. What a bargain. Serves lunch and dinner daily.
