This tiny West End café is very cute, decked out in warm taupe, brown, yellow and green tiles with a pressed-tin roof. Painted wooden serving trays, ceramic cows and urns line the quaint café’s shelves, and Latin-laced tunes muffle the chitchat. Owners Monica and Miguel Trejo, Glenview coffeehouse veterans, have perked up Webster Street with great coffee and espresso drinks, smoothies, tasty breakfast treats and toney-but-inexpensive sandwiches, most of which are better on baguette, insists Monica Trejo. Soups, wraps, quesadillas, baked goods, quiches and fruits round out the menu. The prosciutto with cinnamon-sprinkled pear, blue cheese and mustard sammie (on baguette, of course) was a chewy medley of sweet, savory and tangy and required two hands. The friendly eatery attracts locals and newbies, business suits and farmers market fans, longhairs with frayed cuffs and clean-shaven New York Times readers. Out back there’s an expansive back patio, and welcoming seats dot the front sidewalk. This is a nice addition to the neighborhood. Serves breakfast and lunch-type fare daily.
