Named after the owner, this charming cafe-style restaurant serves up really good, creative Turkish fare with a bit of a splash. Get there early, because by mid-evening the restaurant is packed with a mix of regulars and curious passers-by. The menu is divided between pasta and chicken dishes on one side and Turkish standards and specialties on the other. Try the traditional moussaka, a spiced eggplant and ground beef dish layered with béchamel sauce, or the hearty güveç stew, full of tender lamb, eggplant and garlic. Disappointingly, the restaurant does not have Turkish coffee on the menu to go with the perfect meal-topping baklava, but one waiter said that most days he can make it if asked. Lunch Mon.–Sat. and dinner daily.
