Ladle up three kinds of hot sauce from the salsa bar while waiting for the house specialty, fish tacos—two corn-tortilla affairs spilling forth fish fillet, shredded cabbage, salsa fresca and special blanco sauce. Burritos, wraps and enchiladas are for the having, and additional ingredients—pinto beans, rice, tomatoes, peppers and onions—find their way into the stuffing. Bright walls, cactus and multicolored linoleum hint of Mexico while the decorative music posters do not. But with a motto like “No Styrofoam, No Lard, No MSG, No Preservatives, No Bad Karma” affixed to your bill, the wall and the takeout menu (which also urges, “Please Do Your Part—Think! Speak! Vote!”), it’s our kind of neighborhood taqueria. Lunch and dinner daily.
