Susan B. Anthony Gala
Oakland-born Kamala Harris, the San Francisco District Attorney who’s running for state attorney general in 2010, received the Susan B. Anthony Woman of the Year Award on April 5 at the Montclair Women’s Cultural Arts Center. The National Women’s Political Caucus – Alameda North sponsors the annual women’s recognition program, selecting a recipient who stands for NWPC values: a woman’s right to choose, universal healthcare and equal work for equal pay. Harris delivered the keynote address at the afternoon event, which raises money for local women running for public office. www.nwpcan.org.
