St. Elizabeth High School Auction and Crab Feed 2010

More than 400 guests attended St. Elizabeth High School’s 22nd Annual Auction and Crab Feed on Jan. 30 at the St. Theresa Parish Event Center. The event, which raised money for tuition assistance, was staffed by students, parents and community volunteers. Activities included a silent auction, a live auction and a crab and pasta dinner.

Unity Council 45th Anniversary

State Farm Bank celebrated the Unity Council’s 45th anniversary at Scott’s Restaurant on Nov. 10. The event, which was attended by more than 300 guests, commemorated the Unity Council’s many years of service to the community. Food and an open bar were provided, along with the music of Mariachi Regional de Los Altos. UnityCouncil.org

Hoppin Hoedown

Clausen House whooped it up Nov. 7 for its 42nd anniversary, celebrating in a diamonds-and-denim kind of way at the Claremont Country Club with the Hoppin’ Hoedown. Buckaroos, cowboys and boot kickers circled the wagons to wrangle donations for Clausen House services recipients by hosting silent and live auctions, a cocktail reception and a dinner. A Yellow Scarf Award went to Safeway. Clausen House assists people with developmental disabilities become independent. clausenhouse.org

Berkeley Chamber of Commerce Still Flowin Crush

The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce hosted its 14th annual Crush 2009, “Still Flowin’, ” at the Pauley Ballroom on the UC Berkeley campus on Nov. 8. The event, which drew more than 350 people, featured 25 wineries and breweries, as well as 25 restaurants and caterers. The Inside Men played music, and guests could partake in a raffle and silent auction. Proceeds from the silent auction will go toward scholarships at Berkeley High, and the raffle proceeds will benefit BOSS, Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency. BerkeleyChamber.com

Bishop O Dowd Crab Feed 2010

It was a crustacean-a-palooza at Bishop O’Dowd on Jan. 6 as more than 520 people attended the school’s annual crab feed. The evening’s activities included both silent and live auctions along with music by Off the Record, a local band featuring several students’ parents. The event, which was sponsored by the Dragon Athletic Boosters, raised money for the school’s athletic programs.
