Millsmont, Fava Fans

Letters and a correction: On the minds of our readers, fans, and followers.

One Forgotten Benefit of Life in Millsmont
We enjoyed reading your April story “6 Neighborhoods to Know Now.” In response to the Millsmont area, we feel you missed one major advantage to the neighborhood. AC Transit’s NX3 bus line serves commuters to and from San Francisco daily. This incredibly comfortable, friendly, Wi-FI enabled bus has limited stops, and will get you to San Francisco faster and cheaper than BART.

Happy Homeowner
Thanks for the wonderful story on our house search [“Where the Wild Things Are,” March]. It turned out great. I reached out to Signature Development to see what their plans are for the old hospital [“Oak Knoll Stirs Again,” March], and they responded that Lehman Brothers is selling the land, and Signature Development will not be working on it any longer. I thought you might be interested.

Aping Vaping
That Oakland Magazine chose to glorify another disgusting habit, e-cigarettes, is beyond me [“Cigarettes Go High Tech”]. Quit condoning such disgusting stuff. Our kids deserve better.

The dog park chart on page 10 [“Draconian Dog Laws No More,” Oakland Magazine, April] includes Oak Glen Park as an unfenced off-leash dog play area. It is not. That was what was proposed, but it was changed when it came before the Oakland City Council for a vote to an on-leash area.

Bean Defender
I love love fava beans [“Fava Fan,” Oakland Magazine, April]. Why do they get such a bad rap?
