Spin the new CD by the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, Hear My Prayer, and enjoy the richness of 55 local voices raised together in songs of praise and glory. The OIGC, led by Terrance Kelly, has performed some 25 years, breaking traditions and molds wherever they go. An ethnically diverse and multifaceted choir featuring members who are Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims and atheists, the OIGC has performed with recording stars MC Hammer, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt and The Kronos Quartet. With a sound as lush and harmonious as the latest R&B and smooth jazz, OIGC brings gospel into the 21st century.
