Oakland's Nona Lim Launches New Bone Broths

These new flavors will join the brand's award-winning Lime Bone Broth and other varieties.

Founded in 2006 by Singapore-born entrepreneur Nona Lim, the Oakland-based Nona Lim brand has since won awards, fans, and funding — and is debuting some flavorful new additions this month.

The brand's line of additive- and preservative-free ten-ounce Heat & Sip Cups of broth and soup has already won laurels: Gold sofi™ Awards (presented by the Specialty Food Association) for the Thai Curry, Lime Bone Broth, and Vegan Carrot Ginger Soup cups.

But now the line is expanding — with its brand-new Ginseng Chicken Bone Broth and Shiitake Beef Bone Broth.

“Our Heat & Sip Cups have made fresh, clean-label bone broth and soup a convenient anytime comfort food,” said Lim.

“We are excited to offer new flavors that are so easy to enjoy that you don’t even need a spoon.”

In addition to launching the two new flavors, Nona Lim has also certified its popular Heat & Sip Cup of Turmeric Chicken Bone Broth as USDA Organic. Both the Shiitake Beef Bone Broth and the Ginseng Chicken Bone Broth also use organic bone stock. The beef in the Shiitake Beef Bone Broth is also grass-fed. 

Last year, Nona Lim announced the closing of a $3 million round of funding, which followed a $1.5 million convertible note backed by angel investors the previous year, as reported at ProjectNosh.com.
