After launching its first American location in Walnut Creek in 2017, the Barcelona-based group is launching a new spot in Palo Alto.

Walnut Creek's popular Telefèric Barcelona restaurant will soon have a new sister, as a Telefèric Barcelona location is opening in Palo Alto this spring.
The new location will also include a gourmet retail store, stocked with Spanish goods such as olive oils, wines, and jamón Ibérico.
The Telefèric Restaurant Group is headed by the Padrosa family, who opened the original restaurant 25 years ago north of Barcelona — largely popularizing the small snacks known as pintxos throughout Spain's Catalonia region. To their three Barcelona locations, the Padrosas added their first stateside location — Walnut Creek — in 2017.
Executive chef Oscar Cabezas — voted one of People Magazine's "Sexiest Chefs" two years ago — has created an array of tapas and pintxos such as patatas bravas and crab croquetas for the restaurant group. Co-owner Xavi Padrosa enjoys roaming the dining room bearing spiced Manzanilla sherry for guests in a Catalán-style pitcher known as a porrón. Cabezas, along with sibling-owners Xavi and María Padrosa, all hail from Barcelona.
Designed by Barcelona-based Tarruela Trenchs and Oakland architect Arcsine, the new location in Palo Alto's Town & Country Village is set to open in May.
