“Our motto is, ‘Your table is our kitchen,’” Shirasoni owner Stan Le says of his teppanyaki restaurant. For the uninitiated, teppanyaki is a Japanese-style meal cooked on iron griddles in front of you. Le has been in the restaurant business for 10 years, and opened Shirasoni in Alameda four months ago. His favorite meal is the Samurai filet and lobster. His children, ages 10 and 14, love the sushi. Speaking of kids, every Tuesday is kids eat free. And on Thursday, martinis (there are 99 different kinds) are $5. For the record, Le was born in Vietnam. “But I just love Japanese food!” he says.
