Thistle Meats Launches Oakland Pick-Up Program
Specialty meats can be ordered via phone or email, then picked up at Hopscotch.

Petaluma whole-animal artisanal butcher shop Thistle Meats has just launched its innovative new Oakland Pick-Up Program by which its products can be ordered via phone or email, then picked up on Fridays and Saturdays at Uptown's Hopscotch restaurant .
Thistle Meats' chef-butcher Travis Day, who took over ownership of the popular Sonoma County shop earlier this year, is a former Hopscotch sous-chef and friend of Hopscotch and Itani Ramen top-dog Kyle Itani.
The pick-up menu includes such items as local, grass-fed, pasture-raised beef, pork, and lamb cuts; chicken (whole, half, harissa rub, and herbs de Provence); mortadella; salami cotto; jambon royal; coppa di testa; terrines (rabbit-apricot, head cheese, and duck with walnut and fig); and sausages (spicy Italian, maple breakfast, lamb merguez).
Also available are specialty items such as broths, bacon, whole rabbits and ducks, grass-fed butter, Coastal Hill Farm eggs, and Andante Dairy goat cheese.
Customers need only inform the Hopscotch bartender or host that they have arrived to pick up their orders.
