Although June is officially Pride Month, Oakland Pride's tenth anniversary parade and festival are set for Sunday, Sept. 8. The parade starts at 11 a.m. at — then heads southward from — Broadway at 14th Street. The festival takes place around and between 12th Street BART and 19th Street BART.

Anticipating these festivities,  the Waterfront Hotel in Jack London Square is hosting a Pride-inspired ice-cream social on Wednesday, September 4.

Guests and locals alike are invited to gather poolside to enjoy ice-cream pints courtesy of Big Gay Ice Cream, along with live music and craft beer tastings offered by Oakland United Beerworks.

Donations collected throughout the evening will support the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center.

The Waterfront Hotel is part of the Joie de Vivre group.
