Aiming to focus on positive actions being taken in Albany these days, Wild Card Brewing Co. East Bay Tasting Room is hosting its first annual "Pints with Purpose" events series.
Once a month, Wildcard will choose a local nonprofit for which to raise funds. Each fundraiser will be connected with an activity based on the chosen organization's theme.
For the month of May, Wildcard has chosen Albany Strollers & Rollers, which advocates for the safety of cyclists and walkers.
Attendees are encouraged to cycle their way to the tasting room for a special event on Saturday, May 25 — a portion of whose proceeds will be donated to AS&R. Bike-valet racks will be installed and ready for use right outside the tasting room — where the party lasts from 12 noon from 10 p.m.
Launched in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Jeff Hansen and Jenny Hansen — who learned in England the brew-craftery they now practice in Redding — Wildcard opened its Solano Avenue tasting room last year.
Recent Wildcard releases include the fruit-juicy Pipe Dream IPA and citrusy Ruby Red IPA.
