Best of Party 2007
It truly was the party of the year. More than 40 restaurant and beverage vendors joined forces with some of the best local entertainment to bring Island residents a party that was so big, it had to be held in an aircraft hangar. Area 51 at Alameda Point was full to the brim with more than 1,600 attendees and vendors Sept. 20 as Alameda Magazine hosted its first-ever Best of Alameda party. Guests enjoyed bags full of swag, amazing cocktails, wine and beer, the sounds of local favorites Terrence Brewer, Natasha Miller and the Sun Kings as well as a performance by Dance/10 and even an iron chef competition. The best part of the night: proceeds benefited the Boys and Girls Club of Alameda and their efforts to build a new 25,000-square-foot clubhouse. www.alamedabgc.org.
