With a 1950s retro vibe and friendly servers, this classic diner offers an experience almost as good as its food. Plop a quarter in the juke box and then sidle up to the counter or settle in to a plush, red booth and prepare for some home-style cookin’. Bette’s breakfast offerings include eggs done any way, Maryland corned beef hash, Philadelphia scrapple and the famous flapjacks—buttermilk or soufflé style.
