For the moment, the opening of adjacent Piazzaoli is making it easier to get a seat at toney-yet-familiar Doña Tomás. A lively and loud neighborhood favorite, DT continues to create upscale, seasonally changing Mexican dishes. Last visit we supped on snack-sized chicken quesadillas jazzed up with squash blossoms, tamales of beans and zucchini nesting in banana leaves and sopa de lima. The ever-present chiles rellenos and Niman Ranch carnitas tempted, but we kept it light on the back patio. Dinner Tue.–Sat.
