This hip spot plates, of all cuisines, Italian and Iranian, and is the product of the same folks behind adjacent Hudson Bay Café, our waitperson informed us. We went Persian, first selecting a sampler appetizer platter of feta, cucumbers, sprigs of spring onion, flatbread and gherkins served with a zippy and bright yogurt sauce as fresh as spring. We also enjoyed delicious and hearty lamb cabbage wraps steeped in an herb-seasoned and aromatic tomato sauce—a dish we could order again and again, unless we succumb to the temptation of competing kebabs, braised beef, calamari or eggplant Parmesan. Sharing left room for dessert, and we went for the decadent flourless chocolate cake, a satisfying square of chocolaty bliss. Our service was practically intimate, and we have no complaints about the simple wine list. The tiny restaurant’s décor is stylish and minimalist: blank walls that glow yellowish-green with brown hues, a winning combo that exudes warmth and comfort in trend-setting way.
