Reprising the loungey vibe of the original Levende in San Francisco—thanks to a long kiri-wood bar, dark hues of brown and maroon, graffiti-style wall art, a soaring ceiling, exposed-brick wall, spindly chandeliers, big windows and a live DJ spinning tunes—this hip supper club continues the “go east!” restaurant trend from the City to the Town. Executive Chef Arren Caccamo’s eclectic mix of Asian, Latin and Mediterranean cuisine includes superb small plates (great mini lamb and tuna burgers; chioga beet salad with pecan-crusted baked cheese; coconut-miso soup with silky lobster ravioli; spice-dusted Kennebec fries with a chive and smoked-cheddar dipping sauce) and big, bold desserts (chocolate peanut butter pie, chocolate-covered strawberry cheesecake) that outshine the decent entrees (guava-glazed baby back ribs; tamago sautéed halibut; roasted pheasant).
