A 20-plus-year Oakland stalwart, the Otaez Alameda outpost brings recipes from Socorro and Jesus Campos’ family to a large, warmly designed space with sky-high ceilings in the East End. Otaez dishes up massive, affordable portions of authentic south-of-the-border fare on huge, colorful dishes, and the prodigious menu will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Use your fork to fish out the giant, submerged meatballs if you order the albondigas soup.
