Between the irresistible appetizers (including the signature portabella fritters) and the scrumptious desserts (artisanal cheeses, house-made biscotti, a classic hot fudge sundae and more), Wendy Brucker fashions an extraordinary seasonal menu of entrees that changes every three weeks. Tapping local and regional sources for mostly organic produce, sustainably caught seafood and naturally raised meats and poultry, she comes up with dishes that are as homey and satisfying as they are elegantly presented on the plate. The tariffs might say “special occasion,” but the fare—such as a mixed grill of quail, Rivoli sausage and pork loin served with cassoulet; or slow-braised beef short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes and creamed spinach; or Dungeness crab cake; or wild mushroom, mozzarella and ricotta lasagna—cries out “come back often.” Roscoe Skipper’s superb wine list and the room-wide picture window that looks out on an illuminated garden with roaming critters are more reasons to become a Rivoli regular.
