Berkeley, CA 510-883-1720 Sustainably harvested seafood is the de rigeur here, but Sea Salt is more than an environmentally correct, eat-it-because-it’s-the-right-thing-to-do restaurant. Chef Anthony Paone’s brings top-notch food to the latest addition of Cindy and Haig Krikorian’s growing restaurant empire. The menu changes often, but look for the New England clam chowder, persimmon salad, Dungeness crab cakes, and grilled squid and sardines. Other good bets are the bacon, lettuce and trout sandwich, grilled Columbia River sturgeon and pan-seared grouper. After a few visits, you’ll be hooked. Eating the right thing never tasted so good.
