This is the ticket for Dungeness crab. A bright, garish place with red velvet curtains, leopard print carpet and lots of neon, the Dead Fish is a seafood and prime rib house on steroids—exactly why it’s a fun field trip for Oaklanders. Crisp, over-efficient service means you’re in and out in a flash, though the crab deserves lingering, as does the melting mass of crab enchiladas. Executive chef Andrea Froncillo and partners are the same folks behind SF’s The Stinking Rose,the Crab House at Pier 39, Calzone’s, Boboquivari’s and the Franciscan Crab Restaurant. Lunch and dinner daily.
