Take a trip to Ireland without even leaving the East Bay by stepping into the dark and comfy confines of Beckett's, a pubbish club with Irish and American standards. Great bangers and mash, and the fish and chips are no-brainers, but Beckett's also plates up plenty of steak and kidney pie and corned beef and cabbage. For lighter eaters, try the apple and Gorgonzola salad, a nice mix of greens with candied nuts, tangy cheese and crunchy apples. Guinness, Murphy's, Caffreys and many more beers on tap, and there's live music Wednesday through Saturday plus a good selection of Irish whiskey and single malt scotch. Open daily for lunch and dinner.
