Essential Information

4345 Telegraph Ave.
Oakland, CA

510-658-7273

This large restaurant space plunked down in Oakland’s Koreatown has seen many incarnations, but its most recent iteration as a sleek-but-cheap sushi house is proving popular with bargain-hunting sushi lovers. The extensive menu goes on and on, with tons of sushi, tempura, rolls and other delicacies. The maki are things of beauty, and the chefs offer no shortage of flavor combinations. At a recent birthday dinner celebration, the Wendy, a roll starring deep-fried soft-shell crab, disappeared as quickly as it arrived, and on a subsequent visit, the House roll, showcasing spicy tuna, won our loyalty. Don’t miss the seaweed salad, a crunchy explosion of green goodness. There’s easy parking here, and don’t be put off by the tableside call buttons, because customers get what they want without having to use them. Serves lunch and dinner daily.
