The Crucible’s Seventh Annual Fire Arts festival was bigger and better than ever July 11–14 in West Oakland. The event’s spectacular July 14 grand finale, held in the large lot next to the West Oakland BART station and across from Crucible headquarters, featured an impressive array of fire arts and exhibits, including a massive fire-breathing dragon and the highly anticipated Fire Odyssey, a modernized interpretation of Homer’s epic poem.
