Mia & Jonah
This Oakland-based band started as a twosome in 2003 but has since grown into a five-piece, building a loyal Bay Area, Los Angeles and New York following. Watch for a new full-length album from Mia and Jonah in 2008 entitled Rooms for Adelaide. Track: "3 Stories High."

Dogman Joe
Dogman Joe frontman Robin Applewood grew up in Berkeley playing clubs such as the Gilman and Ashkenaz with his high school band. Now you can see Dogman Joe all over the Bay Area and enjoy their new self-titled CD. Track: "Keep My Faith."

High on Fire
Oakland-based High on Fire have received national attention for a brand of metal they call, "powerful and pure in its ability to translate primal fury and aggression." You can often find singer/guitarist Matt Pike behind the bar at the Silver Lion in the Temescal and drummer Des Kensel at a Raiders game, Jeff Matz completes the trio on bass. Track: "Rumors of War."

The Lovemakers
The Lovemakers got their start in 2002 at Saturn Records in Oakland's Rockridge district. The trio create their own unique brand of biting electro-pop dance songs and accentuate them with a lusty aesthetic. Check out their new single, "Misery Loves Company."

HIJK
The Oakland-based HIJK recorded their latest effort, The Pen and The Letter, at The Plant Studios in Sausalito. The track, "Alibi," was recently voted the number one song on GarageBand.com.
